Some unknown gunmen allegedly attacked a military checkpoint at Afor-Uzo Junction in Isuofia community, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra state on Saturday, 12th of November 2022.
The troops at the checkpoint were said to have immediately engaged the Gunmen in a heavy gunbattle. The heavy gunfight was reported to have led to the death of four of the unknown Gunmen who were said to have operated in a Toyota Avenza vehicle.
The soldiers were also said to have given the criminals a hot chase and were able to recover their operational vehicle.
A source who spoke with Vanguard News was said to have narrated how the soldiers of the Nigerian Army gave the criminals a good fight before neutralising four of them and recovering their vehicle.
The Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Paul Nwosu, while reacting to the incident, in a statement, was said to have advised the people of the state to remain calm. He was said to have assured the people of safety at all times.
